16 June 2010 Last updated at 11:53 GMT Help A giant statue of Jesus outside a church in Ohio in the US has been destroyed by lightning.

The glass fibre and plastic foam sculpture caught fire and burned to the ground in what insurance companies have described as an act of God.

Yep, I think JHVH is punishing them for the ultimate blasphemy. No gods before him, no graven images.

Well, since it was plastic foam and fiberglass, it must not have cost that much, so the insurance is a bunch of cheapskates, and God was offended at being "honored" with such a tacky piece of "art"

God is obviously getting kickbacks from the insurance industry.

Now they know what to do with all the styrofoam coolers they find in the parking lot every Sunday morning. :drunk:

It was a monstrosity too, clearly modelled on Charlton Heston. Not surprised the Big J's dad didn't want it hanging around.

I mean, who is he praying to, exactly? Himself.

And he could barely have crucified his genitals on that cross...

And the designer of the graven image seems to have no sense of proportion that Jesus would never fit that cross. And why is he half submerged?

I bet JHVH thought they were worshipping Neptune.

A full height Touchdown Jesus would have been a tornado magnet in Ohio. The torture device is there simply to remind believers of how Jesus got nailed and they didn't even buy him a drink first.

You've got to admit a gigantic stone Cheesy flying about in a tornado causing all sorts of disaster would be insanely funny.
