Youth unemployment link to immigration rise questioned

There is probably a link between rising levels of youth unemployment in Britain and an increase in migration from eastern Europe, a report suggests.

Migrationwatch UK says in the third quarter of last year there were 600,000 more workers in the UK from eight former Soviet bloc countries than in 2004, when they joined the EU.

Over the same period, UK youth unemployment rose by almost 450,000.

The Institute for Public Policy Research says the study is "flawed".

According to data from the Office for National Statistics, youth unemployment in the UK increased from 575,000 in the first quarter of 2004 to 1,016,000 in the third quarter of 2011.

Over the same period, the number of workers from the A8 countries which joined the EU in 2004 - Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania - grew by 600,000.

Migrationwatch UK, which campaigns for tighter immigration controls, said it would be "a very remarkable coincidence if there was no link at all" between the figures.

It is only in the last couple of decades the liberal decandency invited half the world on board one of the most densely populated places on the planet. Now the great mega-depression is coming things are starting to warm up between the new comers and the established lineages. Liberals don't realise just how dangerously nationalistic the British people are despite us estabalishing the one and only world empire.

My father worked at a non-union job and brought home $50/week. After he started at GM and joined the UAW we moved into a house with indoor plumbing. Unions were formed to protect the laborers from the folks that classed them with the shovels and mules.

Truth is a lot of businesses in the U.K. would rather hire someone keen to work from abroad than hire a bunch of fucking spoiled children who think work is essentially an extension of the school playground.

Why not have the desperately poor work for the same amount rather than less? Would they work less hard if they were payed more?

This is exploiting frightened people far from their homelands for the most part. Consider Poland? It is virtually fascist and if you are gay or something you are dead if you come out....who wouldn't work like a dog to stay in a country which is civilized?
