Thanks for introducing me to this word, which is wankery of the highest order, suggesting that fear of deadly firearms is somehow fucking irrational. Brilliant.

don't fear the gun but the person weilding it. some people I know only feel the recoil when they kill :stanley:

I disagree. Being "around" guns is not inherently dangerous, just like being "extremely uncomfortable" around knives or baseball bats would be a tad unreasonable.
Have to disagree with that, I generally try to minimise the time I spend around sharp knives. I certainly do use them but the second the need for it is over I generally do put them away and out of sight if possible. I also will never go within stabbing (or slipping distance) of someone who has such a knife either. Thats just common sense to me, you minimise your exposure to something that has no use and is potentially fatal ( A meat cleaver with no meat around has no use).

I would also never go within swinging distance of a baseball/cricket bat either if someone is holding one, beyond that distance they are harmless
I also own a few guns and a couple of basebats. Now knives that sre sharp well there are more than a few at the house.and I do believe I have never hit a person with a baseball bat. Have stabbed a few and shot my share but that was in the exotic country of Vietnam. Never used the meat cleaver that came with the knives lol but i guess one day I might get a chance. So I also extend an invitation for you to move next door to me , who knows you might enjoy a little spice in your life. :tut: :smug:

During wartime I hope?

Depends on how you define war, I suppose.

I hope the cops never inspect, I have a puukko in the tool box in the trunk.

I cut a belt off a Pinto AC with it once. Mother in law was happy, she could drive home.

I keep a knife..........

...in my pocket.

Yes, it's true. A concealed weapon.
Very pointy. Very long.

I'm very familiar with it and I miss it when it's not there.

The puukko is good for stabbing. It has a fixed blade:

I've seen a fair few, the design is almost identical. Individual manufacturers differences, mostly I think.

No blades over 3" allowed to be carried here. Knives with locking blades are illegal to possess (never saw the point of banning a safety feature  ).
