A Camera For Looking Into The Future?

Post by Atheist-Lite » Mon Jan 02, 2012 6:06 pm

If neutrinos are tachyons and the future is a real place just like the past then there must or may be a way of looking accurately into the future? I wasn't sure whether to place this in the technology area or here. I chose here since the technical ideas will spring from deeper speculations concerning these new philisophical prospects? So lets discuss the future and how we might retrieve it into the present?

How would one focus such a beastie? Where would you aim it?

How could one see something that may or may not happen? :dunno:

I suppose it would use somekind of statistical algorithm and perhaps brute computation to mathematically regress and then forward pan detectactable patterns of pixels? This would work best for predicting motion than was already in play, although it could be pushed way beyond that with the right algorithms, the correct insights into probable patterns of change. If leaves are known to turn brown in autumn, and there are enough examples then a prescient pattern could be computational...?

How exactly are you going to make a camera using particles that require a wall of lead metres thick to catch less than one in a trillion?

Neutrinos can barely be detected, let alone focussed!

guessing camera first....the neutrinos and super-accuracy might be a jump for a future generation....where would we be without wax cylinders earlier?

There is already predictive software on many cameras which tracks faces and movment. Really, this is just a start to what is possible. :coffee:

It tracks what's already on the camera. You want to go from hand grenades to atomic bombs in one swell foop.

Cloud computing should give a ordinary camera massive computational possiblities in the future?

One could imagine sending a movie file of a prospective gf/bf over the cloud to a super-computer which does a ten year ageing algorithm, and in real time allows you to see what you might expect given another ten years? Saving much heartache....perhaps? :coffee:

If you have more than three technologies that do not yet exist in your plans, you have a problem.

Cloud computing exists, surplus supercomputing power is on the horizon and DSLRs are in direct competition with smaller lighter cameras with inadequate sensors but potentialy superior firmware. I just rekon it is a tinderbox of technological action widely overlooked at present...and the idea of neutrinos being from the future might provide the 'ideological' spark? :zilla:

The technologies you need haven't even been named yet. G'luck.

If faster than light information means time travel is possible, then there is something wrong with the physics.
It's ARGUED that relativity means that time travel could happen if c can be exceeded. In that case, there is something wrong with relativity theory, or the current interpretation of it.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.
