"The best theory we have to describe matter is quantum theory. Now, I understand why quantum theory can seem a bit odd, I mean it makes some odd statements; it says, for example, that things can be in many places at once. Now this is all true but that isn't a licence to talk utter drivel, you see quantum theory might seem weird and mysterious but it describes the world with higher precision than the laws of physics laid down by Newton and it's one of the foundations of our modern understanding of nature. It doesn't therefore allow mystical healing or ESP or any other manifestation of new-age woo woo into the pantheon of the possible. Always remember quantum theory is physics and physics is usually done by people without star signs tattooed on their bottom."

I thought it was good TV. He didn't treat people like dullards and it would have needed a stretch for some people on some areas. A refreshing approach after some of the dunces guides one sees on TV sometimes.

It occurs to me that a number of the volunteers were not known to Mericans - with the exception of Simon Pegg. The rest all appear on TV regularly.

I really don't think the 'celebs' added much to proceedings. Their main job seemed to be to sit/stand around going "ha ha, we're so thick".

But then I don't suppose a show explaining quantum theory without 'celebs' would have gotten itself a 9pm slot on BBC1. Such is the state of things these days

I think everybody there except Cox was thick. I know I would have been.

Yup. This is the belief in tv commissioning land - unless a "celebrity" is attached, the public won't be interested. Im waiting for Graham Norton to do a breathless VoiceOver for Thatchers funeral
