Simple car repair

Post by Tero » Sun Dec 18, 2011 7:09 pm

I'll use this topic for stuff I could fix.

Q1
Wife has Honda Pilot. Can I take the bulbs in the high beams and put them in the low beams, on a trip? When a bulb burns out.

Look at them. If they're identical, no problem. If not, be prepared for a burned out bulb or fuze if you try it, minimum.

I once replaced the entire exhaust system in an old Mazda. It involved crawling under the car (no hoist available) and a shitload of swearing. But I was young and flexible then...
Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?
And my gin!

I used to work in the Special Services Auto Repair Shop at the base in Sicily. I had a deal with the local who advised sailors on how to fix their Fiats. The first time I met him he was standing in the shop with a engine in his arms. It was out of a Fiat 500. He taught me a lot about gasoline engine repair. I'd only worked on diesels before that.

I don't think they are exchangeable. But I noted we had fog lights we never use, would work in a pinch.

Why not just keep a spare set of bulbs in the car? :dunno:

They shake and rattle and get dumped on top off. This is the wife car, every nook and cranny is full of items. And the bulbs run 25 dollars each.
