I guess I missed the part of the story where the responsibility for the Bahrain attack was assigned to Iran.

Pssssh, it could just have likely been a secular. The battle in Bahrain is against dictatorship and those powers, such as Britain, who prop it up. Religion is a secondary non-issue. Your view of the Middle East is clouded by your lack of perspective.
