No, that's trickle down economics.
When things were done Keyeswise, from the 30s to the 70s, the poors' lot was actually improving.

Just a coincidence because of several technological advances during those times.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

Keynesian economics works a millionfold better than trickle down economics.
Better at what? Destroying a nation's economy? You're right there.

Prove me how Roosevelt's projects (or Hitler's road building etc) destroyed the economy, and you may have a point

Oh, and I'll see if I can get my mitts on the Fulsom book, but wouldn't a summary of his argument be a good start?

FDR was an idiot and his unconstitutional Progressive meddling prolonged the Great Depression by a decade or more. That summarize enough for you?

Oh, he's using books now?

Much more convenient. The lies can't be refuted with a ten-second search on the Internet; you gotta buy the book.

Nice try, Seth.

I must admit that when somebody says he did unconstitutional things, and nobody stopped him, I suddenly wonder if the book is worth reading... Plus, I'll need more explanations about how the economy would have righted itself by itself given the funk it was in when FDR decided to relaunch it with the new deal thing.

"Somebody" did stop him. The Supreme Court overturned many of his programs (Like the National Recovery Act), and the minute he was out of office, the Congress rushed to pass the 22nd Amendment so the nation would never have to endure 4 terms from any president.

Ron Paul, grand father of the Tea Party, supports extending the tax cuts.

The question is not how the economy would have righted itself, the question is how badly FDR fucked it up, along with fucking up our Constitution with all his Progressive meddling. What "righted" the economy was World War II, not FDR. But the damage FDR and the Progressives before and since have done to our Republic is nearly incalculable.
