Or at least, so the people who called in the air strike claim.
Ummm, that would be the people who implemented the airstrike, not the ones who called it. The ones who called it are Afghans. The ones who did it are NATO.

Maybe you forgot.

You do that a lot.

Your link quotes Afghan officials, who are, as I said and as you confirm, the ones who called the strike, not the ones who carried it out.

Perhaps you didn't read the article before linking it? Here, I'll make it easy for you and provide the first line:

Note that "Afghan" doesn't mean "American", even if the two words do start with the same letter, just in case you're confused about that.

OK.

They're the only ones it quoted?

I still assert that an airstrike was unwise; surely they knew there was a Pakistani post there, and had the smarts to realise that an airstrike could have unwelcome political consequences?

They weren't surrounded, in dire straights and going to be wiped out unless an airstrike was called...

The Taliban should be well pleased with that little game plan...

Easy, America will just veto it and all will be well in the land of Ishmail.

They called the Pakistanis first. Hours before.

They said, "We have no troops there."

Oops.

The airstrike hits where the counterfire is coming from. The device that lets them do that is called FLIR. It's a decade old.

Don't fire when you hear jet engines. Or choppers.

Or die.
