What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Yes it is real; you can check the issues on Time's own website and yes we Canadians get the same edition you Americans do. The only times I've ever read Time were when I was in a waiting room and they were usually at least 3 months out of date.

Did you look at any of the previous covers? The US ones are often different, including one instance where the US cover story was "Can you still move up in America?" vs the rest of the world, which had "Mom liked you best: the science of favouritism." Sometimes there are multiple variations amongst the four covers.

It is the funny thing about the internet, they used to do these kind of things with propaganda and no one was the wiser, now it's up for the world, including north amercians to see. The internet has been a blessing and a curse for the propagandists.
