You are composed of non-living things.

Chemical composition of the human body by mass

Oooh I had no idea we were mostly oxygen, I always assumed it was carbon, - though I guess it makes sense since oxygen is rather reactive, I suppose it's in just about every other molecule? There's less calcium than I was expecting too, for all of our bones.

Though if this is by mass, wouldn't that mean it would look be radically different if it was by number of atoms? Hydrogen would presumably go up to number one.

Biology and Chemistry were my weeks points in science.

I think I'm running low on "other." Wonder where I could buy supplements... :ask:

It's mainly due to the water, H2O, but most other organic molecules have a few oxygen atoms as well...

And certainly, if it was by number of atoms, Hydrogen would win hands down...

But speaking of dead things, my greatest joy in the old days was dissection...

Give me a sharp scalpel and a dead organism, and I was a happy man...
Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?
And my gin!

Ahh of course, that makes sense. Somehow that completely passed me by like I didn't think of water as an actual thing. I didn't actually consciously think it, but in my mind, once breaking things down into components, I suppose I was assuming a "dried" human. :hehe:

I love it when people say "The human body is 90% water!"

"Oh really, so you're less dense than a jelly fish?"
