I can't not post this while I'm posting Bill kirchen. Extended Hot Rod Lincoln.

What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Actual pub in north queensland out in the middle of nowhere.

Describes Australia beautifully. :swoon:

The Pope was today knocked down at the start of Christmas mass by a woman who hopped over the barriers. The woman was said to be, "Mentally unstable."

Which is probably why she went unnoticed among a crowd of Christians.

one of the finest covers going^^^

i guess Alvin counts more as bluesy country rock than "country" but i find the edges bur a lot anyway. I've been listening to a lot of his stuff at the moment and it defnitely has that down home Americana thing going on.

and this might be one of McMurtreys finest pieces of work. Rollin and buildin, rollin and buildin, and such a fucking narrative.

and if a blit of bluegrass is allowed in this thread then this is a classic. ntm a blindingly good live version.

I came across this poking around Youtube and I'm not quite sure what to think of it.

And now, for a complete change of mood....

I like both of those but I wouldn't call them country. :dunno:

I like this one from FNV, not generally a country fan.

Now I have to go find my son's White Stripes. He's in college but the CDs are here.
