Re: English is hard
The öö is the missing letter in English, because your scribes were dim. Words like early and burly are really öörli and böörli. And you don't even get your long vowels straight. Good thing you dont have many kk tt pp and so on type of wörds.

Not to mention the year I spent taking Irish lesson at the Conradh na Gaeilge in Dublin... I was there to gather study material for a completely unrelated research project, but found time.

What is this "you" business? Do I look like a German or Scandinavian or Frenchy who took a wrong turn and ended up in England?

Ever tried putting a Hebridean together with somebody from the Kerry Gaeltacht? I'm not that sure they'd communicate efficiently. I know I never got my pronunciation cleaned up because I picked mannerisms from people from everywhere, so I might combine habits that normally don't belong in the speech of any single person... But I'd never have guessed that the intercomprehension barrier might exist between speakers of the same province.
