So what do you propose be done with a barrel of mixed goo comprising of US soldier, native and suicide bomber then?
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

I don't think he meant in a postive way. More like "impacted" or "stuck by." Correct me if I'm wrong, Audley...maiforpeace wrote:Impressed?Audley Strange wrote:I'm impressed by the utter contempt of it all. Its quite breathtaking. Bet the flags didn't get dumped in the landfill though.

What they're doing now. I think burial at sea is a befitting and respectful treatment of another human...it certainly is an improvement over dumping them in a landfill. It's also one of the most eco friendly ways to deal with human remains.Azathoth wrote:So what do you propose be done with a barrel of mixed goo comprising of US soldier, native and suicide bomber then?

True. Mrs. Lak will be applying at the St. Petersburg VA medical center when we get back from our Christmas trip, now that her permanent resident status has finally been approved. She used to specialize in amputee therapy and there is no shortage of amputees coming out of Iraq and Afghanistan.maiforpeace wrote:
One of the things that differentiates this war from all others in the past is the huge number of servicepeople they were able to save that would have died in the past. That means the population of disabled veterans has skyrocketed. We don't have a clue what an impact this is going to have over the next years. If we aren't already doing it, it's those same disabled veterans we are dumping on the street to homelessness, without the care, therapy and support they need.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Yes, I have such sentiments drafted in my will. Since I will be dead and could care less, I want people to feel free to grieve as they need to, so do whatever you like with me...burn me, stuff me, feed me to my dogs. Whatever path leads my loved ones out of grief the most expediently.FBM wrote:I am liking this sentiment.maiforpeace wrote:As for the living man's amputated leg...I would honor it as much as he needs me to. Absolutely. I couldn't give a Ratz' ass what happens to this bag o' chemicals once it has stopped functioning as a unit, so the focus should be on the best thing for those who are still living and gave a Ratz' ass about it while it was still living.maiforpeace wrote:Yes, I have such sentiments drafted in my will. Well thanks for trying to make me sound reasonable, but I meant impressed as in admiration. A perverse admiration it must be said, but the sheer bare faced audacity to treat your troops in such a way knowing that noone can or will do anything is to me impressive, in the same way that Rumsfeld's arrogance and contempt were so almost inhuman that it was impressive. When the powerful don't even disguise their sociopathy and they still get voted in, that impresses me.FBM wrote:I don't think he meant in a postive way. More like "impacted" or "stuck by." I understand completely...when the war was imminent I kept on having this image of the US being gang raped by Bush, Cheney and Rumsfield. Being an American, it didn't impress me, it incensed me.Audley Strange wrote:Well thanks for trying to make me sound reasonable, but I meant impressed as in admiration. Oh. OK. I can sort of see that. Maybe. But in a "not really" sort of way...Audley Strange wrote:Well thanks for trying to make me sound reasonable, but I meant impressed as in admiration.
