California's homeless population is huge. I think our weather is one of the main reasons for it.
As an advocate for the homeless here in Santa Cruz, you might want to reconsider calling them 'bums' which is derogatory...only a few of them are really bums, the rest of them are legitimately homeless.

I used to go vet hunting around the docks in Long Beach. We'd load up 2-3 vans and take them for a hot meal and chance to clean up and wash their clothes (mandatory if they wanted to sleep there that night. It never took us more than 2 hours to fill up the available slots. We rode shotgun for another team of vans as well, ones that specialized in families with small children. It was a way for me to appreciate what I had more.

Thank you for doing that, but I'm not surprised either.
How we treat our homeless vets is a disgrace my friend. Then, to call them bums on top of it?

The vets were mostly burnouts and PTSD victims. The guy that paid for the shelter was a vet himself, one who tettered on the brink before getting lucky and eventually starting a major chain of tire stores in California. (Name withheld by request made many moons ago.) He also paid for the family shelter. And he was an atheist.

It's in the wrong section then?
If you let me move it to the pub I'll post my bum contributions.

No, no bums to be shown here, unless you are a bum, then you can show your bum too.
