The 100%

Republican Teagagger Party congresscritters aren't just voting "for" the 0.1%. In fact, they aren't voting for anyone at all. In pursuit of their ridiculous ideologically driven misunderstanding of economics, they are voting for economic disaster. Their idiotic misrepresentation of economics for personal political gain has resulted in them literally voting against the interests of every single US citizen, rich or poor- they are voting against the 100%.

This of course implies that the approximately half of all the top 1% in income that consistently vote against fair taxation are idiots who actually do not understand economics, and are literally voting against their own interests.

This is not surprising; about half of everyone else does too. Why should the rich be different? They aren't better.

In Europe and the UK in particular the 'left' was founded to a great extent y people from the 'upper' or certainly upper middle classes who had a social conscience. The Fabian society in the UK included amongst its members George Bernard Shaw, H. G. Wells, Annie Besant, Graham Wallas, Hubert Bland, Edith Nesbit, Sydney Olivier, Oliver Lodge, Leonard Woolf and Virginia Woolf, Ramsay MacDonald and Emmeline Pankhurst. Even Bertrand Russell was briefly a member.

The Fabian society were motivated by a sense of social conscience. They weren't particularly Marxist (though some of them were), but they could see the innate unfairness of the politico/economic system and did their best to encourage reform. The Labour party here in many was was a result of the work they did.

It is hard to imagine a similar movement these days here - and certainly not in the USA.

Doesn't matter who you vote for. The same sociopathic snakes in suits, assorted clowns and wealth-inheriting inbred imbeciles will remain in power. To change this you'd need to max out on a risky revolution. That won't happen until the people are hungry enough to bite the hand that feeds. So it may be a couple of years away yet, things are trending...just needs some time? The occupy movement isn't gonna change anything...it shows the wind direction good and proper though.

Since Reagan everything's been distorted to the right. It's the result of propaganda and a mistake in determining the causes of stagflation in the 1970s. Without that mistake there would never have been a freshwater school of economics, and also without the radical right to try to use it to acquire and hold all the money. The scales are falling from peoples' eyes right now, that's what the Arab Spring was, that's what the Inconvenient Ones in Spain were about, that's who Anonymous is trying to be, and that's who the Occupiers are.

It's a damn stupid thing to do, economically, being rich, after the invention of gunpowder. The writing was on the wall after the French Revolution.

The rich people need to stop stealing shit. They'll still be richer than anyone else. It'll be OK. And people won't think they're as greedy, and despite that fucking movie greed is not good.
