I was reading the new rules and guidelines, like the convergent, good boy that I am, and I realised how much catching-up I've got to do. Can anyone help? What's "trolling"? What's "NSFW"? And are the references to sock puppets facetious, or is it another term I'm not familiar with - if so, what does it mean?

I don't think I've broken any of the rules yet, but - as David Banner used to say - "Don't make me angry; you wouldn't like me when I'm angry."

Whew! Where to start.

First, sock puppets. You can create multiple accounts as long as you don't have a malicious purpose for them. They're alter egos mostly.

As for NSFW, check the forum index page, it's list there, along with the rules.

Trolling is shit stirring on a forum for personal amusement. The troll isn't concerned with any problems it creates, it's totally lacking in empathy.

Quite literally. I've had conversations with my own "sockets" here. They can't vote and can't do a few other things, IIRC, but if you're not using them to cause grief they're considered harmless.
