I think it wouldn't be unreasonable for GMs to have a minimum # of posts required or face subbing out of godkilling.

I'd have no problem with it either, but it does mean that GMs have to be willing for their games to tank until people either respond to it, or stop signing up unless they mean to play. That's a hard thing to ask considering the work they put into the games.

back from the dr.

MZ, all I can tell you is that town or scum, there is no way I would have read Mono's post and not replied. You're welcome to believe what you want to believe, but like I said, I hope that all players will consider going invisible when they play. ksen should not have been cleared by going awol. With the GM error on Gonzo's cardflip that was two strikes against scum that we did not deserve to have to work with. I won't do that to some other poor fuck who draws the scum card the next time I play.

I think town would have won. My gameplay was flat and off yesterday due to pain and irritability. I think I was ok before that, but I definitely tripped some wires for UT and I think they would have made the difference on day 5.

It really was a difficult, challenging game. We really blew it not spotting UT's special game, but I think it was more a credit to him than our lack of looking around.

It was the 3rd scum game in a row I've drawn. I tried to play all three games differently, but within the envelope of my town game. It's a challenge. It was also a lot of fun playing with Irre and b.tern. I was sure that either Irre or I would be the first scum to go, and I figured whoever of us was left would be partially cleared. It worked because we do know each others' games that well and it was well within the realm of the possible that we'd catch each other out on day 1.

I think the random number gods are having a little fun with me.

i can agree with that. i'm not fond of out of game info being used. I got myself lynched my first game at tr because a teammate got a scum lynched by profile watching and catching them sending a kill order to the gm. It's why i felt forced to tell aza about the pm sent to me by mistake. I like winning, but not by unfair methods. It is kind of funny that aza is so hard on callan after the cardflip error. It's like people mess up sometimes.

Didn't follow the game---checking in mainly to estimate when it's my turn to GM---but I've thought about the general issue a bit. IMO, "lynch the quiet ones" should get the same status as "lynch all liars", i.e. a norm that town enforces because lying (or minimal participation) is considered anti-town play. I'm also a bit intrigued by the possibility of penalizing minimal participation through the game mechanics (aside from godkill), but don't have any workable ideas... A half-baked one: give the mayor an NK that can only be used on the 2 players with lowest post count. But it's maybe too easy to just make 10 post effectively saying "I'm only posting this to increase my post count".

i have played at places where there's a nonvote penalty. bsically if you don't vote, you get 2 penalty votes the next day. at least you can count on most people showing up for at least a vote post then. or at least the scum and specials will. not a lot you can do about people who won't play when they're VT.

That's an interesting idea, much better than ones I was thinking about.

not playing when they are VT? I really don't get that. I love the VT role. No worries about getting NKed, no real worries if lynched, just get down to work hunting for scum. and if you get a chance to draw a little fire away from a special it's icing on the cake.
