Sons and daughters of any future UK monarch will have equal right to the throne, after Commonwealth leaders agreed to change succession laws.
The leaders of the 16 Commonwealth countries where the Queen is head of state unanimously approved the changes at a summit in Perth, Australia.
It means a first-born daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would take precedence over younger brothers.
The ban on the monarch being married to a Roman Catholic was also lifted.

Sod the Queen, your noncing toffs, your house of wankers and all that shite. I've had enough of recognizing the Queen as head of state and her ridiculous, do nothing, appointed governor generals that cost us millions of dollars a year and for what? Sod right the fuck off. We're not your mincing little colony. There's nothing common about wealth in the Commonwealth.

But it's still unequal in birth order! That's siblingist!
Younger siblings unite and campaign for sibling equality! No more hand-me-downs. No more getting not-so-good presents at Christmas.
The line of succession should be decided by the roll of dice for true equality, and if that means the next king is some distant nephew who's only just potty trained, then so be it!

It's funny seeing such an anachronism making minor tweaks to make the whole joke a little more acceptable. It's a bit like the Catholic Church quietly accepting heliocentricism a few years ago.

Well, that's the point, isn't it? If they'd done this 500 years ago, history might have been very different.

Could be a bit tricky if the head of the Church of England ends up being a Catholic one day!
Well not really of course...

Just because you're in the joint doesn't mean you believe in any of the voodoo.

I'm gonna bet there's stuff in the coronation ceremony an atheist is gonna have some major issues with.
Or Catholics, for that matter. ETA: And I know enough history to know that's deliberate.

It's only of academic history to me, being Irish. We just elect our heads of state, which apart from anything else is much more fun.
