No one seems to have bunched panties but you in these situations. Derails are pretty de rigeur here, so don't take it personally. People aren't always going to discuss exactly what you want - conversations can go in all sorts of directions.

Sorry, I can see it now. I agree for the most part with the cartoon and as for the bit about the kid I don't really consider it indoctrination just because I know how interested I was in politics when I was younger completely on my own. I did completely believe what my parents did because they were the primary influence in my life, but that changed quickly between the ages of 12 and 18 (went from reading and listening to Rush Limbaugh at 11-12, to libertarianism, to anarcho-socialist to democratic socialist )
