ISI Training And Supplying Al Qaeda, Say Taliban

A BBC2 special with interviews of mid-level Taliban commanders details extensive military training, including shooting, small unit tactics, bomb-making, and infiltration skills, given to tens of thousands of Taliban insurgents by ISI trainers in Pakistan, where they were also provided safe haven before and after missions. Al Qaeda talent spotters identified suicide bomber candidates who were separated and trained in special areas of the same camps the ISI were doing the training in, indicating heavy, deep, long-standing collaboration between the ISI and al Qaeda.

This is getting pretty interesting. I am coming to the conclusion that there was in fact a major government involved in a 9/11 conspiracy; Pakistan's. And that it is likely that the rumors that the money Mohammed Atta got came from the ISI are true, and that they may even have helped with both training and planning 9/11, and that Bush knew it. It's not a firm conclusion yet, but I think that I am not alone, and I wonder what the consequences are likely to be if it turns out to be true, or at least likelier than not (since the Pakistanis, and particularly the ISI, are noted for denying everything no matter how ridiculous and obviously deceitful the denial is).

And it turns out the ISI isn't the only Pakistani agency that's involved with the terrorists, either. The Pakistani Army is standing by and letting militants fire mortars and rockets across their border into Afghanistan, from sites within view of border posts containing Pakistani Army regulars on border duty, apparently with full knowledge and approval of the higher-ups.

This is going to need to stop unless Pakistan wants to be the next Iran. The pressure is going to increase and increase, and their people are devastated by floods, experiencing power outages because the government keeps trying to cheat the power providers, and starving because they can't grow enough food because the terrorists attack people working in the fields. Something's gotta give. They're gonna get their aid cut off and there's gonna be a revolution.

China has its own issues with islamic populations within its borders, so might not be too keen, I would imagine...

And the attempted cosying up by Pakistan is probably because of the tense border situation between India and China from time to time...

The last time they mentioned anything to do with new negotiations with China in Dawn and the Pak Daily Times was right after the announcement of the billion dollar cut in aid. It was pretty blatant.
