I don't like the presence of the military with guns in the UK either, far prefer they are abroad liberating/shooting people etc but if need to keep a few they keep their guns firmly under lock and key in barracks.

If you see a soldier in uniform(which is very rare , seen a couple at careers fairs) in the UK he/she is highly likely to be unarmed.

I'm 39 and I have never seen a handgun outside a musuem or on TV, seen a couple of submachine guns at an airport once and I've seen an American policeman with a gun holster which I assume had a gun it

Having civilian guns for 'self defence' is a black and white issue, anyone found possessing one should be executed on the spot (well in theory they get a mandatory 5 years) but I suppose there is a chance they could be handing over them over but not very likely

Without liberty and freedom, none of those things mean anything. I'd rather be dead than live a life of slavery and servitude, and a free man can usually find food, water, shelter and healthcare when he needs it, whereas slaves and sheeple have no choice but to take whatever their masters give them...or don't give them. Just ask the residents of the gulags in the USSR how that worked out for them. Not so well.

A free, armed citizenry can always take what it needs from despots and tyrants, and can free their slaves as well.

Nobody said that freedom is free. But you're right, many people are more comfortable in slavery than they are with the concept of freedom, which requires hard work and involves risk.
