They should surrender every last one of them to me. And all the ammo, too. Don't worry folks, I'll keep a good eye on 'em.

Having civilian guns for 'self defence' is a black and white issue, anyone found possessing one should be executed on the spot (well in theory they get a mandatory 5 years) but I suppose there is a chance they could be handing over them over but not very likelyThis debate polarises it all into black and white it's not like that ,there are many shades of difference between anyone can have any guns they desire and nobody can own no guns at all ???
When only criminals carry guns the police know exactly who to shoot!

Bring them over to the UK, and my taxes will be well spent in getting rid of themZombie Gawdzilla wrote:You want my guns? Sorry, but I'm in no wise a Libertarian. I spent 20 years in the USN, I'm not utterly self-absorbed, and I'm not selfishly interested only those things that directly benefit me.MrJonno wrote:Thats the libertarian idiocy of thinking they are independent and self-reliant, me I believe you should never do anything that can't be done better in a group preferable professionals who are trained to do that sort of thingWhat? You defeat your own argument there. You've clearly got a bit of the gunfighter delusion going on in your head.Zombie Gawdzilla wrote: You want my guns? Come try and take them.

What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."
