An investigation is under way after indecent images were "inadvertently" shown by a Catholic priest during a presentation at a primary school in County Tyrone.
Father Martin McVeigh projected the images onto a screen during a meeting for parents in Pomeroy in preparation for First Holy Communion. One child was also present.
Parents said 16 indecent images of men were displayed. The priest said he had no knowledge of the offending imagery.

"Parents said 16 indecent images of men were displayed"
... wow, they must have been paying very close attention.
And why did it take 16 pictures before things were finally brought under control?

The bit I found most offensive was this...
"Twenty minutes later he returned, he continued with the meeting and wrapped up by saying that the children get lots of money for their Holy Communion and should consider giving some of it to the church."

Have to agree with that. That was the only sentence that I had to read twice because I could not quite believe that I got it right the first time.
The technical cause for this malfunction was maybe memory stick + autoplay?

That's the whole point of making your Communion. To get a shed load of money. Otherwise why bother?

“The parents are enraged that Fr McVeigh has been entrusted with the pastoral care of their children however, he has given no explanation for why he left the room for 20 minutes after the incident or no apology to the offended child, parents or teachers.”
I guess he cranked one out in the toilets?
The parents claim the folder contained “approximately 16 indecent images of men”, which they said were previews to other folders, at which point Fr McVeigh quickly removed the memory stick.
Explains that he wasn't just pressing the button again after each one, til he got to number 16 and decided to give up.

I think the priest must be lying. How can he not know that the images got on the memory stick? Did he borrow it from another priest?
My guess is it went like this:
Priest: Sitting at desk, says to himself, "wow! that was some work -- glad I'm now done with the upcoming presentation for the First Communion. All the images are on the memory stick and ready to go." Sits back, and relaxes for a second. Idea then dawns on priest..."hmmm....time for a little private R&R...."
Goes on internet and starts viewing images....rubs one out while he's doing it.... saves a few of his favorites for later, not realizing that the "save as" feature was still pointed to the memory stick.....
