I was fishing, when I saw one choose a path to pass me that took it through the water, rather than passing via dry land. The little fucker was carrying a tiny northern pike in it's mouth.

Poisonous too. When they feel threatened they release bufotoxin from two glands behind their eyes. A lot of dogs have died trying to kill them. There are even records of human deaths.

Before anyone trundles out the old canard of everything in Australia trying to kill you, the cane toad is a native of South and Central America. It has been imported to eat the cane beetle - which it then almost totally ignored because it found food that was more to its liking. To date no predator has been found to control the toad population, unless you count the bogans who intentionally run over the toads in their cars because they usually make a loud, satisfying pop when they get squashed.

Cats from Victoria, more specifically, Geelong Cats, would be a better solution. Nobody would care if things went wrong and they were the ones finishing up dead.
