You'll find Transphobia contravenes our play nice rule. Please remember that the next time you pass through.

I'm also old enough to remember when this used to be a forum for atheists.

It would be useful if we could have a list of religions we're not allowed to question. Then we won't get called bigots for questioning them. Just a thought.

FFS ..
“Senator Graham knows where the American people are on this,” she told CNN. “They are with Democratic leaders, and the people of this country believe that the women of this country should be able to make their own decisions about their healthcare and not politicians.”

Klobuchar also attacked the legal arguments advanced by those seeking to ban mifepristone, which in part relied on the 150-year-old Comstock Act prohibiting the mailing of contraceptives, “lewd” writings and any “instrument, substance, drug, medicine, or thing” that could be used in an abortion.

The law has not been enforced since the 1930s, according to NPR.

“It was literally passed in 1873,” Klobuchar said. “That is 10 years before the Yellowstone prequel, at a time when we were treated for pneumonia through bloodletting, back in the age of the Pony Express.

You know, that would be much easier if you actually explained what portion of my post(s) was transphobic, and why.

Don't play dumb. Your whole schtik is to be as offensive as possible.

Are you projecting again? The only person I see hurling abuse at other members here is you.

I'm only asking for clarification from a moderator, because I don't want to fall foul of the rules. However I need to understand how I fell foul of the rules in the first place. It's an extremely reasonable request, because I am an extremely reasonable person.

You called transgenderism a mental illness, delusion and a religion. But of course, you know this is where you went afoul of the rules.

You said that trans was a mental illness that shouldn't be indulged by society, and called trans an ideology and-or a religion, and as such should be a legitimate subject of derision on an 'atheist' forum like this. It's obvious that you don't believe this kind of posting is transphobic, but everyone should be allowed to post here without others insisting that they are mentally ill, delusional, or an otherwise invalid human being purely because they exist or because their identity and person doesn't adhere to the expectations of others. This is why you were reminded of our Play Nice rule.

If you would like to discuss gender issues further we have a thread for that - but please keep the moderation post and the Play Nice rule in mind.

The clarification is appreciated. Since it does not appear that skepticism is permitted on this topic, I almost certainly won't be posting in the dedicated thread, but thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Playing the victim now? :nono: Pretty damning comments.

There are lots of things to be skeptical of ....AGW and the spectrum of human sexuality are well established facts even if some think that is controversial.....it's not.
How best for society to handle those realities is indeed a viable topic of discussion.
Denial of those facts is not. :coffee:

I agree that global warming is an established fact. The evidence is overwhelming, and one should never ignore the evidence.

Gypsies urinating in streets!
How? Carlson tapped into white viewers’ fears over the country’s changing racial demographics, which fueled Donald Trump’s rise in the 2016 election. He would regularly focus on the notion of the “great replacement,” a racist conspiracy theory that claims elites are importing supposedly obedient immigrants to disempower native-born Americans. In 2018, Carlson argued that hordes of immigrants were making America “poorer and dirtier.”

Carlson often highlighted local news stories but twisted them to make broader claims about Americans losing control of their country. In one segment in 2017, he claimed “Gypsies” were causing chaos in a small Pennsylvania town, urinating and defecating in the streets.

“The message of these segments was always the same: You and your way of life are under attack, and the people doing the attacking look different and have different values than you do,” my colleague Nicholas Confessore, who covered Carlson’s rise for The Times, told me yesterday. “Carlson reassured viewers that their discomfort was reasonable — that they didn’t have to feel bad about their fears and worries.”
