Just about zero.

That's why the argument by selective example is misleading bollocks. It's easy to portray something as racism when it's not.

If some decrepit scruffy black fucker demands to use the toilet without buying anything, are they now obliged to comply, when he might just want somewhere to shoot up?
Managers need the right to refuse based on their own judgement. That's what applies in most places at the moment.

After this, the only option left is to allow everybody, or refuse everybody.
There's too much information missing for me to form a judgement here. For instance, were these fellas rude or were they well-behaved? Did they explain that they were waiting for a friend before they ordered, or no? Just how long were they sitting there not ordering anything? And is not ordering anything while you're waiting for someone a common thing,in general? Because it seems pretty strange to me. Having a coffee to sip while you're waiting would make a heck of a lot more sense to me.

Having said all that, you have to understand that racist assholes are coming out of the woodwork over here, emboldened by the new "normal" of this fucktardian Trump presidency.

You can get a pint of guinness for the price of coffee these days.
A misconception that many people have in their misplaced hatred of Starbucks is that their coffee is overpriced. It is not. Their regular coffee is comparable in price to any other coffee shop.

Anyway, I know you meant coffee is overpriced in general. But where is this cheap Guinness you're talking about?? Sadly, we do not have that here. Then again, neither do we have proper Guinness here. So it's a rather sad affair all around.
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

no it doesn't, I'm not even sure that what it serves deserves the titler of coffee byproduct...... what coffee they have is not roasted, it's burned beyond recognition, and only an ignorant fool would go there for a cup of espresso...

The proof in the pudding is not in the look of it.

I have bought a long black at a Starbucks coffee joint once. It was quite good. Not the best, but certainly better than at some other places. One of the worst can be had at the Gelato Bar at Bondi Beach. Although you can buy gelato there the name is misleading. If you like Austro-Hungarian style patisserie, cakes and tarts you can do no better than eating there. That's their main attraction. Trouble is, I find it impossible to partake in any of their heavenly offerings without sipping some coffee, and it seems they just insist on using rustica coffee beans. Rustica beans ought to be outlawed.

Edit: Alas, the Gelato Bar is no more. I just found out that the third generation of the family that owned and ran the joint since 1958 has sold out. Since then it got some fairly bad reviews and was finally shut down. The new owners opened a Gelato Bar in nearby Bondi Junction, but I don't know if I want to go there, especially since it would make for a 3400 km return trip now.

If you buy a starbuck's product, yes, I'll agree with you, but ordinary coffee is one fifth to one eighth the price of a pint of Guinness here (depending on the respective prices of coffee and guinness, what establishment you go to, whether you go during happy hour etc)

interesting, if I'm to buy a chain coffee, I generally prefer to drink Mc D's than Starbuck's, everything being equal (that is, having the choice between two kinds of filter coffee)

Maybe Starbucks operates differently on different continents. It does make sense to cater differently to different sets of customers. Not many years ago Starbucks closed most of its Australian outlets because it did not. The owners posted a $140 million loss, though that was not solely down to their Starbucks chain.

I dont drink coffee outside in any so called coffee outlets. Very much overrated. I have my favourite pubs to go to where if you want coffee it is served in a cup or glass.
What is it about sitting in tasteless surroundings drinking crap in plastic lined cardboard cups? I agree Hermit rustica coffee beans should be banned but they are dirt cheap.

I'll grant that French café coffee is not veryh good at all, roasted too much and too much robusta in the mix...

I'm having groundhog day. I'm sure this exact conversation was had in another thread about coffee.

I meant robusta coffee beans. Strange the cafes here make good coffee. There is more atmosphere in a cafe. My favourite at the moment is the "Boterwaag" which dates from 1726. It is situated on the Groote Markt. It was the weigh house for collecting taxes on goods coming to the market.

I call shenanigans. Nobody goes to a Dutch coffee shop to drink coffee.

I'm not paying any cunt anywhere 8 bucks for a cup of coffee. It's COFFEE, not fucking single malt. Besides, my home brew blows the doors off Starfucks, and I use the cheapest coffee money can buy, literally. It's even cheaper than the store brand espresso, $2.39 for a 10 ounce vacuum sealed bag.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Starbucks is not a coffee shop. It is called a coffee bar.

Many people are addicted to their burned beans variety.
