They already know about safe-sex. The problem is they also know how getting pregnant can set them up with free housing and benefits to live off of, and more kids equals a bigger check. Whyis it that the Republican states tend to be the poorer wit the higher rates of teen pregnancy, teen sex, STDs, illiteracy... These conservative principles: you can make them sound good, but in practice they tend to not work very well.

Sure, we shouldn't need to fund abortions when there are other options available. But people, especially young one, fall into a one track mindset when those hormones kick in. It's the price we have to pay for having a long line of ancestors, every last one of which fucked at some point in their lives.

Strange isn't it how teenage pregnancy rates literally skyrocketed immediately after "The Pill" was released on the market, and prior to that time, getting knocked up outside of wedlock was a matter of shame and humiliation, which public opprobrium convinced most girls to keep their panties on and knees together until they had a ring on their finger and a husband to support their child.

In other words, once again you've got the cart before the horse.

It is the existence of contraceptives and abortions that CAUSE unwanted kids to be born. People think they can just have sex whenever they like if only they have a pill and an abortion available.

Take both away and we'll see a return to much more responsible sexual behavior and therefore fewer unwanted kids.
