Blurry line between those and paranoia, I guess, but I still like them.

Agreed, but I'm talking about crass stupidity and relying on wild imaginings. It's the way one can utterly debunk a "theorist's" argument only for them to change tack, fuck off and return yocto seconds later with some other shite that they've trawled from the back of their head that I find irksome.charlou wrote:I like skepticism and doubt.

You're always late, always lame.sandinista wrote:blanket? If by blanket you mean true, The official US story will not be true.JimC wrote:Too much of a blanket statement. You're right. The governments of the world would never lie to the public.Tigger wrote:These conspiracy theorists are more annoying than wooists. At least yer religious deludee has the good grace to (largely) stick to one topic (i.e. God), and sort of adhere to the shite that's contained in their single tome of choice; the conspiracy theorist (and it's NOT a fucking theory, you've hijacked that word and you don't know what it really means) just makes stuff up about a plethora of random and varied world events with the apparent backing and authority of science behind them. Bollocks.
I didn't say they didn't ever lie, you've just twisted it to suit. They obviously do lie, but it takes long term use of a foil hat to make someone think that there is a sinister ulterior motive for absolutely everything.mistermack wrote:You're right. I'm so embarrassed that I suggested it was possible.

Quite so. To be a *real* conspiracy theorist you have to believe that any consensus about any topic is proof that there is a conspiracy!Tigger wrote:I didn't say they didn't ever lie, you've just twisted it to suit. That's short sighted. Bin Laden may be dead, might have died years ago. Might have been paid off, there are any number of possibilities. What remains the same is that the story the US government is telling is most likely bullshit. To be trusted one has to earn it, the US government has done nothing to earn the trust of anyone but the truly naive.JimC wrote:I still can't go past the realpolitik...
If the US is indulging in a big lie, they didn't kill Bin Laden, meaning he's still out there, his next video appearance mocking the Great Satan for lying about killing him would destroy US credibility for the forseeable future...
The US is not crazy enough to do that...
