Obesity is the worst epidemic to affect the UK for 100 years and the only solution is for people to eat less, a former surgeon has said.
Conservative peer Lord McColl of Dulwich said politicians refused to admit that the cause of obesity was over-eating and claimed ministers were "misleading" people by suggesting it could be tackled through exercise.

Obese people should certainly eat less.
The only solution?
Who is saying that exercise is the only answer
As we grow fatter, there does seem to be this idea that either it's not our fault (victim mentality) or that being fat is actually okay (since fat is the new normal). The solution seems simple, and it's not a one-thing-or-the-other approach. Eat less. Eat better. Exercise more.
We, at least here in the U.S., each much larger portions than we need. We also eat too much meat in proportion to the rest of our diet. We eat too much unhealthy and processed foods. And we get too little exercise. This is just common sense, isn't it?
