What are my views?

If you are a gun owner, than what do you feel when people blame you for gun crime?

How fuckin stupid is this argument? Guns are like tornadoes?

The big difference, even to the most stupid, should be obvious. Tornadoes can't be affected by laws.
Nobody chooses to unleash a tornado. They aren't being kept going by a "tornado lobby" or a "national twister association".

Ya just lost me Collector.

Yer pissin' graves here.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Tornados are somewhat predictable: move out of tornado alley.

Gun deaths are even more predictable. Most gun deaths sre caused by gun owners.

Are you saying people shouldn't be able to have personal weather machines, if they get out of control and kill someone well you can't blame responsible weather machine owners?

Nobody who is a law-abiding citizen chooses to unleash a tornado criminal with a gun.

Begging the question fallacy. The question is which type of gun owners cause deaths, and the answer is "criminal gun owners," who are, ipso facto, undeterred by the fact that it's illegal for them to even posses a gun, much less use it in committing a crime. Therefore, gun laws that restrict access to guns affect ONLY law-abiding citizens, and not the criminals that the laws are purported to be aimed at. That's precisely why we object to more such laws...they are ineffective at achieving their stated purpose, they unduly and unnecessarily infringe on the gun rights of law-abiding citizens, and they are intended as stepping-stones to even greater restrictions on law-abiding gun owners, by design and intent.

Okay... I guess my tongue-in-cheek wasn't obvious enough for you. That's a shame. Yet everyone around here acts like they're a genius. Apparently senses of humors are diminished on internet forums.

I wasn't comparing guns with tornadoes. I was commenting on the ways humans die and the, often times, feeble attempts people make to minimize those deaths, particularly laws.

Waiting for the "something must be done" or "think of the children" mindset to surface.

First off, you often match the behaviour of a POE so that makes getting your meaning right difficult when it isn't straightforward. Whether it was appropriate or not is tied up with your point.

The general frustration with your idea of engaging in an argument is deserved.

I got the metaphor immediately. What's wrong with you that you didn't?

Hard for me to type with one gimped hand.. but it might be because I don't go to NRA meetings every Sunday so I'm not familiar with that scripture.

I guess you're just not that bright.

I'm not a member of the NRA, btw.
