Well I guess it is about time I introduced myself. I'm pcCoder from RDF. I've looked around and this place seems nice, and has some of the favorite posters such as Cali and so forth. I'll stay if I'm welcome.
I'm an atheist in the sense that I neither believe that a god entity exists or that a god entity does not exist. I do however consider all the different religions and basic psychology of humans reasonable evidence to conclude that it is more likely made up, out of fear, out of desire to explain everything, out of greed to control, etc. If there is a god entity, I doubt it cares a thing about what we believe about it, as if it did it would be able to ensure that all humans knew whatever the truth was regarding it, and would know that 'revelation', 'prophecy', etc is b/s as any religion can claim such and not leave it up to us to guess which claim is right or not. If it did care it would be able to make it such that if a dying woman gave birth in the middle of a jungle and the child was cared for by wolves until many years later a hunting team visit the jungle, the first time the boy had contact with humans, it could say '(swinging from vine) Ahhhahahhhah. Me Tarzan. You Jane? Jesus died for sins and is son of god', or that a child when speaking its first words would say 'Ma-ma. Mohammad true prophet.' or whatever. There would be universal consensus about such, and it would not require any teaching, any churches, any research or learning, and would not be lost even in the case of brain damage. It would not violate free will any more than doctors telling patients that all the high cholesterol food will eventually kill them violates there free will to continue eating unhealthy food.
Well, as the screen name suggests, I do some coding on PCs. In the DOS days I made a couple mode-13 test games, nothing really to brag about. I mainly use C, C++ and Python, and prefer to use Scons as a build system. I've created several projects, and many more that I've started and never finished. I've created a color and color map editor for POV-Ray that can read the POV-Ray files directly and has support for gamma correction, full rgbft colors (along with HSL/HSV/CMYK color modes in the color selector). I've created a custom expression evaluation library that can break a math expression down into an expression tree and evaluate the expression many times over fairly fast, supports sharing variables between multiple expressions (or not), custom functions, and more. I've created a very simple signal/slot library consisting of a single header and single source file, nothing like boost::signal or sigc++, but still effective, and also a simple signal/slot file for Python as well. I recently made (but haven't uploaded) as simple program that can take a list of video files already encoded in the correct DVD format and automatically create a menu for them to be processed by dvdauthor. I've also submitted some patches to other projects, including Secret Mario Chronicles, wxWidgets, Scons (a couple custom builders/installers/etc), and few others.
In addition to coding, I like to do some web design on my own boring site, but as my previous free hosting provider has shut down the free hosting service it is not online. I prefer to manually edit my site, so I keep the layout fairly simple, using PHP includes for a navigation bar, and a layout that mimics HTML 5 elements such as nav, article header, etc.
Some more miscellaneous information: I love browsing the internet for anything, including science and electronics, DIY construction projects, computer information, porn/erotica, weather, etc. I also like to do some (de)construction myself. I hardly every throw away old junk if it contains parts that can still be used. I like to take apart old electronics monitors and get out the still good parts such as capacitors, flybacks and other coils, heat sinks, power transistors, etc. The same can be said of cars, before I have an old junk car towed away, I strip out some of the main parts, power window motors, solenoids, about anything else. Some day I'd like to try my luck in metal casting and home manufacturing. I don't watch much TV, but I like shows like the Simpsons, Futurama, etc. I also like some of the older shows like Dick Van Dyke, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, etc.

Welcome pcCoder! We need more programmers around here.
Well, we programmers need more programmers around here, although there are already a good few of us.
