LONDON (AP) — More than 60 percent of adults in England are overweight or obese, according to new figures by the national public health agency.
The figures were released Tuesday. Experts have previously predicted England’s increasing obesity epidemic could mean half its population will be obese by 2030.

When I first came to Korea in '96 I practically never saw even a very plump person. Nowadays, it's not rare at all. That roughly equates with the time when Pizza Hut, McD's, etc, (read: shit food) started gaining a toehold over here.

England is not Britain. If one were to add the obesity levels of the Welsh and Especially the Scottish and Northern Irish, it would probably be higher since many places in England are practically famine zones.

Believe it or not, but the USA has passed its peak, and the percentage of obese is now going down, albeit slowly. The rest of us might yet catch up.
We here in NZ have a major advantage. We have more polynesians than anywhere else in the world! Those guys have always loved their food, whether missionary or McDonalds.
