The Transatlantic Alliance - Bastion of Freedom?

Post by Clinton Huxley » Wed Jun 26, 2013 8:49 am

William Hague, UK Foreign Secretary and part-time baseball cap wearer, has opined that:-

"There is no greater bastion of freedom than the transatlantic alliance"

So, is this alliance, with the mythical US/UK "special-relationship" at its' heart, an indispensable pillar of world order or a waning hegemon locked in a cycle of decline? Is the Atlantic still dope or is the Pacific where the cool kids hang out now?
