I don't hold with having heroes - but Rushdie is probably as close as I come. Once again he hits the nail right on the head.

I hope the BBC hold their nerve. On Monday morning Rushdie is the main guest on a new Andrew Marr Start the Week series on Radio 4, which I listen to as it is brilliant usually. He is talking about his memoirs I think - also due to be book of the week on Radio 4. The managers there must be shitting themselves at the moment. If they back down though, due to the madness the 'film' has generated I for one will never forgive them.
