Best 100 British Films
http://www.timeout.com/london/feature/8 ... -full-list
Some amazing things on that list, and (surprisingly) a bunch I've never heard of and want to find.

Ah Whisky Galore! Totally forgot all about that awesome film.
It's a piece of piss to be cowiz, but it's not cowiz to be a piece of piss. Or something like that.

I think Rise of The Foot Soldier, Shaun of The Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Chariots of Fire
Okay I don't like Chariots of Fire but it's somewhat Iconic is was in our fucking opening ceremony and has been played constantly and is currently showing at most cinemas.

Don't Look Now is #1, really? I mean it's good and I even watched it again recently so Pappa could see it, but how is that #1 and "This is England" #88

Yeah, kinda my thought too... I tended to look at them as a whole though rather than specific rankings.rachelbean wrote:Don't Look Now is #1, really? I mean it's good and I even watched it again recently so Pappa could see it, but how is that #1 and "This is England" #88
I need to re-watch a whole bunch of these!

What about "The Great Escaped" or "A Bridge too Far"?
I think they are probably English, and if not, they fucking should be.

I'm surprised "The Third Man" didn't make it to #1. That's one of the all-time great films ever.
I think that language has a lot to do with interfering in our relationship to direct experience. A simple thing like metaphor will allows you to go to a place and say 'this is like that'. Well, this isn't like that. This is like this.
