Organized Religion is a huge business with a lot of money at stake. It doesn't matter if the facts of science prevail, there are still so many shysters making money in the religion business that they will keep on shucking the gullible and needy. To do that, they will keep fighting evolution and other facts of science, if only to create a 'them' to scare their flock.

Even the average atheists lives in constant denial of the reality of evolution. You simply can't credibly believe in evolution without at least considering racism to be ground in genetics and science.

A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.
