Right-wingers are thick - case closed
I know we've had this reported before but it just amused me that now this story has reached the Daily Mail.

Irony of ironies. Were the Daily Mall editorial team too dense to realise the implications of this for their readership?Clinton Huxley wrote:I know we've had this reported before but it just amused me that now this story has reached the Daily Mail.

Meta-ironic, probably. Maybe there is a Guardian mole at the very heart of the Daily Mail's science reporting team.....

Being part of a mob, especially an organized mob like the National Socialists, probably makes frightened people feel better, no doubt. It's easier to swallow the lie and go along with the crowd than it is is to think.

In the US the right wingers who are dumb racists can't deal with the cognitive dissonance of a smart Black man in the White House, so they become birthers.

I would disagree. The mob is just a mob. It's the illusion of safety that sucks them in. They don't stop to think that they could be the next victim of the policies they support, and that the government they're obeying has no need to obey them.Svartalf wrote:Well, the mob does take care of its own.

This may be the case in 'safe and secure' times but the NSDP in Germany were far from dumb. I'd guess it is more a recognition that people with the smarts don't rock the boat unless absolutely necessary. You could imagine doing the same kind of study in five or ten years from now, after the dollar crash and food riots and massive mega-unemployment, and find things quite different? Crumple is undeclared and will support who ever is in power so long as they point the guns elsewhere.

I have not paid much attention, I was in the lab a long time. So it was a revelation to me in this century to see how dumb people really are.

Nonsense! a Guardian mole would have had not only a headline damning the research as maligning the thick but an article by a middle class immigrant lesbian Jihadi who's proud to be stupid and right-wing and shame on all of the liberals for not embracing the benefits of honor killings and suicide bombers as a vibrant part of multicultural Britain in the 21st Century.

Prior to the collapse of the Weimer republic things were quite liberal. After the hyper-nflation Germany moved to the extreme right and the so did the intelligensia.Gawdzilla wrote:Care to parse that out for me. Okay, but I'd limit that to certain operators in the party, not the NDSAP as a whole. Most of them, especially early on, were thugs.Crumple wrote:Prior to the collapse of the Weimer republic things were quite liberal. Smart head dumb body. Liberals do it the other way round and never keep power in troubled times, don't know why?Gawdzilla wrote:Okay, but I'd limit that to certain operators in the party, not the NDSAP as a whole.
