Hey from down under!

Post by PeteDarwin » Sat May 07, 2011 9:35 am

Hey all,

I've just joined up and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Pete and am a post grad student from Australia studying evolutionary genetics and zoology. I'm an Atheist, blogger (http://thecaudallure.blogspot.com/), christ-mythicist, secular humanist and salt and vinegar chip addict. Nice to meet you all!

Pete

G'day, mate, old time graduate from Melbourne University's Zoology department here, back in the early 70s. Frogs were my game...

What are you studying, and where are you based?
Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?
And my gin!

I might even know them - it was a small department...

PM me with names if you feel like it.

My eldest son did a BSc Hons their a few years back, and now works for the EPA, monitoring freshwater invertebrates across Victoria...

Ah awesome, yeah pm'ed you. I'm studying phylogeography and landscape genetics of Varanus varius (the lace monitor). Effectively looking at evolutionary mechanisms and how they affect gene flow on broad and fine scale levels

I love S&V chips. But then I used to drink straight vinegar. (With a dash of salt, of course.) :wizard:
