So.... Seen Any Good Movies Lately?

Post by Bella Fortuna » Sat May 30, 2009 2:19 pm

Last night I watched a charming Czech film, I Served the King of England. The book it was based on is now on my reading list...

I've just seen Arrival of a Train at La Ciotat. Astonishing! The images actually MOVE. Clever chaps, those Lumieres. For Frenchies.

+1 (But without the fuck off bit :hehe: ).

I though that film was awesome. For an action movie it had everything you want.

Mrs Durro and I saw Angels and Demons on our date day last week and both enjoyed it. Star Trek the week before was even better.

Tomorrow, we're seeing that Russell Crowe movie about the reporter and the politician.

Saw a Spanish sci-fi called Timecrimes (Los cronocrímenes) yesterday - very good indeed. A time travel movie with no loose ends or unexplained bits. And it has tits!

I've watched a bunch of great old films in the past few days - Rear Window, The Women, Yankee Doodle Dandy...

Those three are some of my faves, and later tonight The Philadelphia Story is on, another great one. :toot:

I have "I am a fugitive from a chain gang"(1932) to watch tomorrow. A film that actually brought about a change in federal law in the US and resulted in it's autobiographical screenwriter's sentence being commuted!

Would that "Inherit the Wind" had had such power!

"Fugitive" is a great film - especially the ending scene... quite haunting.

Planet Terror was hilarious.
