Hi!

Post by Onomotopeia » Sun Mar 28, 2010 6:04 am

I've been looking for a good place to dust off my talking and thinking skills, particularly to debate about religion, and this place seems like a good one. I'm an evangelical atheist of roughly 10 years, having come out of deeply evangelical Christianity through a long, arduous process which involved seeking objective evidence so I could convert atheists (oh the irony) and discovering the bible for the first time on my third, most honest read-through. I can still speak in tongues and prophesy, but it gets me weird looks at parties.

I'm married, with two very young children (the one sleeping in my lap currently is two weeks old). I drink scotch (each bottle takes about 3 years to finish), unexpectedly loved Buffy, and heard a lot of songs in the Weird Al version before I heard the real ones.

Welcome, new dood! :td:

A long time ago when I started spelling it this way I just was doing it wrong. At this point I simply appreciate the irony that a word that means "a word that looks how it sounds" doesn't look how it sounds.
