We should get "The Expendables" in the mail today. Too bad I'm too sick to make it to the mailbox. *cough, cough*

It's only 16 minutes long, and not particularly deep or meaningful. I just liked the cinematography, thought it was funny in places and found it interesting.

I could only stick about 4 minutes of it before I had to turn it off out of sheer annoyance.

I think I'd probably agree with Ani.
I tend to most of the time when it comes to films.

Just watched the original...

I don't know why I haven't seen this film before. It seems like something I would've loved as a kid.

Considering one of the things a lot of the critics agree on about the new movie is that it is, "humourless", I was surprised to see how light-hearted this is and how likeable Jeff Bridges' character is seeing how serious he is now.
Of course, it is all rather serious really but something about the retro special effects can't help but bring a smile to one's face. I absolutely loved it.

It'll be interesting to see how the latest one will pan out.

Soon I hope. We got a holiday bonus from work so ordered a bunch of films from amazon:

New:
Bronson
Inception
Harry Brown
Valhalla Rising
Despicable Me

Used:
12 Monkeys
A History of Violence
Crumb
Pusher Trilogy
The Assassination of the Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
Sherlock Holmes
Kick-Ass
V for Vendetta
The Thin Red Line
Trucker
Hang 'Em High
3:10 to Yuma
The Wrestler

Wow, I didn't realize I ordered so many
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

I'm starting to get some of these movies in the mail now.

Hang 'Em High. Awful. I love Clint Eastwood, and love his westerns, but this one was crap.

V for Vendetta. Don't think I ever read Alan Moore's original, but even so, I could kinda tell this film was a bastardized version of it. Didn't care much for it.

Valhalla Rising. Very very beautiful film. Not a heck of a lot happens it it. Mostly mood, atmosphere, lots of style, and absolutely gorgeous scenery. And then more mood for good measure.
