Twitter has given the raving dingbat the boot.

'Twitter Permanently Bans Alex Jones and Infowars'

Twitter banned Infowars and its founder, the conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, following months of public pressure to do so.

In a series of tweets on Thursday, the company said it had “permanently suspended” accounts associated with Jones and Infowars after numerous complaints that they violated its terms of service prohibiting repeated abusive behavior. A Twitter spokesperson told The Daily Beast specifically that an Infowars video posted on Twitter of Alex Jones berating CNN reporter Oliver Darcy on Wednesday was the final violation of the company’s terms.

More disaster for Alex Jones.

Lawyers for Alex Jones appeared to have accidentally sent over the entire contents of the Infowars founder’s phone to the lawyers for the plaintiffs in his defamation trial, according to court proceedings Wednesday.

God chance he'll be hit with perjury charges because of the difference between what he said in court and what he wrote in the text messages. More here.

Meh. The appeals will drag on for years. Also, Texas places some sort of cap on punitive damages. Jones might get away with paying out less than a million dollars if the appeals come to nothing.

There's another court case waiting for him in Massachusetts, though.
