Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Escaped...wuhan...are we still on this? You wear your conspiracy nut credentials well.
If you go to Wikipedia it will explain how Zoonosis works.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoonosis
It's kind of neat. Without conspiracy.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
It's not a conspiracy theory to belief that an escaped virus from the lab is a possibility. But the experts that examined the data say it is improbable.
Claiming that the virus was engineered or released on purpose or claiming that you know it escaped from the lab are conspiracy theories.
And the question whether the virus escaped the lab or developed outside doesn't help answering the question how to deal with it now.

1. Release it in the country they wanted to target - so that rules out China. Why release it in your own back yard and take the blame?
2. Make the virus have a longer incubation period, so that more people would be infected
3. Make the virus more infectious so that large populations would be infected in a small time.
4. Make the virus affect younger people, rather than they old and co-morbid.
...so the conspiracy nuts haven't thought this through.

Well, on the other hand: If you look at how China and how the western world came out of this: If China predicted this would happen that way, that would be the perfect strategy to use

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
In 2020 the plan, which only works if you assess a new virus quickly, and label it as dangerous enough for a pandemic, was missed by several months. Credibility of Trump/white house made the public relations part impossible to work. It still requires governors to accept actions.
A major part of the CDC plan is to shut down schools.

I'll trust Weinstein and Heying over your incoherent babble on this.
Hope you don't mind, but they have real credentials, and make clear claims about what they know and what they don't.
That last bit, about how to deal with it now. If it was developed in a lab, knowing HOW it was developed certainly would be helpful.
I mean, to knowing things. Not helpful at all for the blue-anon corporate media types...

What's "complicity theory" and "blue anon"? Other than your latest right wing buzz words?

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
The key point about the origin off the virus is that it is a work in progress. Scientific opinion is divided as to the likelihood of lab release vs zoonotic transmission. We don't need weird conspiracy theories, we simply need more data. Given time, the truth will emerge...

Like the invention of gnupowder - the idea the chinese would do something like this for inscrutable purposes best known to themselves with their bird like cognitions is under-estimated.

If it was a lab leak, that still leaves accident or deliberate release.aufbahrung wrote: ↑Mon May 24, 2021 6:10 amLike the invention of gnupowder - the idea the chinese would do something like this for inscrutable purposes best known to themselves with their bird like cognitions is under-estimated.
If accident or deliberate release, that leaves CCP, USA or others responsible.

Nah. The bug arriving from space is a viable hypothesis that definitely merits further study.

Might delay the third world war if all possibilities are considered equal and no one is to blame. That much is true.Brian Peacock wrote: ↑Mon May 24, 2021 7:56 amNah. The bug arriving from space is a viable hypothesis that definitely merits further study.
