Perhaps they should all return to the Middle East, where they can kill each other in peace in the middle of the desert arguing over which descendant of the Prophet is the legitimate one. I'm fine with that.Hermit wrote:Waiting for the iinevitable backlash against ordinary Muslims under the "All muslims are the same" flag. Currently, France has 5000 troops in Africa, largely helping ex-colonies in the northwest against Islamic terror groups. It also has 3000 troops in Iraq, and is sending a carrier to the Persian Gulf to assist in the fight against ISIS.Seth wrote:I found it particularly amusing that President Hollande said, "I want to say we are going to lead a war which will be pitiless..."Scumple wrote:That's what they want you to think. 12 Times Mass Shootings Were Stopped by Good Guys With Guns
By Hunter Roosevelt on June 23, 2015
1. Pearl High School
0623A2
Oct. 1, 1997
Luke Woodham fatally stabbed his mother at home before opening fire at his high school, killing two students and injuring seven others. The attack was stopped when Assistant Principal Joel Myrick retrieved his .45 caliber handgun from his truck and confronted Woodham, detaining him until authorities could arrive.
Myrick’s action stopped Woodham from going across the street to the middle school as he had planned.
2. Parker Middle School
0623A4
April 24, 1998
A 14-year-old student showed up to his middle school dance carrying a .25-caliber pistol. He opened fire inside the dance, killing one teacher and wounding another as well as two students. The rampage ended when James Strand, owner of the banquet hall the dance was happening in, grabbed his personal shotgun and confronted the 14-year-old killer. Strand held the teen at gunpoint for 11 minutes before finally getting him to drop the weapon and lie on the ground and searching him for additional weapons.
3. Appalachian School of Law
0623A7
Jan. 16, 2002
A 43-year-old former student armed with a .380 handgun killed Dean Anthony Sutin and Professor Thomas Blackwell with point blank shots and went on to kill fellow student Angela Dales as well as wounding three others before being confronted at gunpoint by law students Tracy Bridges, a county sheriff’s deputy, and Mikael Gross, a police officer, after retrieving their personal handguns from their vehicles. The gunman was then apprehended by other students.
Gross and Bridges lost valuable response time accessing their handguns because of the law school’s standing as a gun-free zone.
4. New Life Church
0623A10
Dec. 9, 2007
2 parishioners were killed and 3 wounded when a gunman toting a Bushmaster AR-15 opened fire at New Hope Church. Hearing the rifle fire, Jeanne Assam grabbed her personal concealed carry firearm and confronted the gunman from a distance of 20 yards. According to 5280 Magazine:
She fires five quick shots. Murray falls backward. Assam moves to the middle of the corridor and rushes forward. She’s a few dozen feet from Murray now, exposed in the middle of the hallway. “Drop your weapon, or I will kill you!” she yells. Murray sits up to face her. He’s still holding the rifle. Boom-boom-boom. Bullets rip past her and pepper a wall. While Murray shoots, Assam fires three times.
Through the haze of gun smoke, Assam sees the man struggling on the floor. He props his head against a wall. Her weapon is up, trained on the man. She sees his hands moving near his shoulder. He’s trying to pull the pin on a grenade. He’s going to kill everyone around here, Assam thinks. She instinctively steps back and fires two more shots.
5. New York Mills AT&T Store
0623A8
May 27, 2010
A 79-year-old man entered an AT&T store in New York Mills, New York carrying a .357 magnum revolver in his hand and a list of employees he planned to kill in his pocket. Hearing the hand cannon go off, Donald J. Moore drew his own personal weapon and killed the gunman before he could complete his plan. One employee was wounded in the shooting.
6. Sullivan Central High School
0623A1
August 30, 2010
When a 62-year-old man armed with two handguns forced his way into Sullivan Central High School in Tennessee, he was immediately engaged by School Resource Officer Carolyn Gudger. Gudger put her body between the gunman and a student and started what would turn out to be a more than 10 minute gun-to-gun encounter. Gudger used the time to slowly move the man to a less crowded part of the school. When other officers arrived on the scene, a brief gun battle erupted ending with the gunman mortally wounded.
7. Freewill Baptist Church
sc-ajs
March 25, 2012
Aaron Guyton was inside the recreation building of his grandfather’s church when he saw Jessie Gates, a member of the congregation, pulling a shotgun from his vehicle. Guyton leapt into action, locking the doors to the church where services were going on. Gates kicked in the door and pointed the shotgun at Rev. Henry Guyton and several parishioners. Drawing his concealed handgun, the younger Guyton held Gates at gunpoint while two members of the church took him to the ground. Rev. Guyton then took the shotgun from his hand.
8. Clackamas Town Center Mall
Dec. 11, 2012
Two people were killed and a third was seriously wounded at Clackamas Town Center near Portland, Oregon when a rifle-toting gunman opened fire in in the busy food court. Nick Meli, a shopper in the mall, drew a personally owned firearm on the gunman, who immediately retreated to a service corridor and killed himself. Meli did not fire his weapon for fear of striking bystanders yet authorities say his actions caused the gunman to cease his attack and end his own life.
9. Mystic Strip Club
0623A6
January 11, 2014
After being refused entry to the strip club for belligerent behavior and racist comments earlir in the night, Thomas Elliott Hjelmeland returned carrying a handgun and wearing a Halloween mask. As soon as he entered the club, Hjelmeland opened fire, striking bouncer Brian Rizzo, a patron, and a waitress. Another bouncer, Jonathan Baer drew his concealed handgun and shot Hjelmeland, killing him.
Following the attack Baer posted to Facebook: “I did what I felt was right to stop the shooter…I carry every day, and will continue to, and will so with the hope that I will NEVER have to pull it out again.”
10. Austin, Texas Construction Site
0623A11
April 30, 2014
An irate former employee came to a construction site and opened fire on his co-workers. The site’s foreman, a Concealed Handgun License holder, drew his firearm and opened fire. Both men were wounded in the exchange of gunfire but the foreman’s actions ended the attack and no one else was wounded.
11. Cache Valley Hospital
May 16, 2014
Armed with two handguns, a man entered the Cache Valley Hospital emergency room and began making demands. After demanding to see a doctor, he racked the slide on one of his handguns and told hospital employees “someone is going to die today”. While a security guard tried to keep the gunman’s focus on him, two corrections officers who happened to be at the hospital on an unrelated matter engaged from another direction. The gunman was shot three times and no other people were harmed.
12. Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital
0623A3
July 25, 2014
A patient at a psychiatric clinic killed his case worker at point blank range and then turned his gun on his doctor, Lee Silverman, striking him several times. Before the gunman could leave the office and continue his rampage, Dr. Silverman drew his own concealed handgun and pumped three rounds into the gunman’s torso, mortally wounding him. Police and hospital staff hail Dr. Silverman as a hero and credit him with saving dozens of lives.
1. In Chicago earlier this year, an Uber driver with a concealed-carry permit “shot and wounded a gunman [Everardo Custodio] who opened fire on a crowd of people.”
2. In a Philadelphia barber shop earlier this year, Warren Edwards “opened fire on customers and barbers” after an argument. Another man with a concealed-carry permit then shot the shooter; of course it’s impossible to tell whether the shooter would have kept killing if he hadn’t been stopped, but a police captain was quoted as saying that, “I guess he [the man who shot the shooter] saved a lot of people in there.”
3. In a hospital near Philadelphia, in 2014, Richard Plotts shot and killed the psychiatric caseworker with whom he was meeting, and shot and wounded his psychiatrist, Lee Silverman. Silverman shot back, and took down Plotts. While again it’s not certain whether Plotts would have killed other people, Delaware County D.A. Jack Whelan stated that, “If the doctor did not have a firearm, (and) the doctor did not utilize the firearm, he’d be dead today, and I believe that other people in that facility would also be dead”; Yeadon Police Chief Donald Molineux similar said that he “believe[d] the doctor saved lives.” Plotts was still carrying 39 unspent rounds when he was arrested. [UPDATE: I added this item since the original post.]
4. In Plymouth, Pa., in 2012, William Allabaugh killed one man and wounded another following an argument over Allabaugh being ejected from a bar. Allabaugh then approached a bar manager and Mark Ktytor and reportedly pointed his gun at them; Ktytor, who had a concealed-carry license, then shot Allabaugh. “The video footage and the evidence reveals that Mr. Allabaugh had turned around and was reapproaching the bar. Mr. [Ktytor] then acted, taking him down. We believe that it could have been much worse that night,” Luzerne County A.D.A. Jarrett Ferentino said.
5. Near Spartanburg, S.C., in 2012, Jesse Gates went to his church armed with a shotgun and kicked in a door. But Aaron Guyton, who had a concealed-carry license, drew his gun and pointed it at Gates, and other parishioners then disarmed Gates. Note that in this instance, unlike the others, it’s possible that the criminal wasn’t planning on killing anyone, but just brought the shotgun to church and kicked in the door to draw attention to himself or vent his frustration.
6. In Winnemucca, Nev., in 2008, Ernesto Villagomez killed two people and wounded two others in a bar filled with 300 people. He was then shot and killed by a patron who was carrying a gun (and had a concealed-carry license). It’s not clear whether Villagomez would have killed more people; the killings were apparently the result of a family feud, and I could see no information on whether Villagomez had more names on his list, nor could one tell whether he would have killed more people in trying to evade capture.
7. In Colorado Springs, Colo., in 2007, Matthew Murray killed four people at a church. He was then shot several times by Jeanne Assam, a church member, volunteer security guard and former police officer (she had been dismissed by a police department 10 years before, and to my knowledge hadn’t worked as a police officer since). Murray, knocked down and badly wounded, killed himself; it is again not clear whether he would have killed more people had he not been wounded, but my guess is that he would have (UPDATE: he apparently went to the church with more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition).
8. In Edinboro, Pa., in 1998, 14-year-old Andrew Wurst shot and killed a teacher at a school dance, and shot and injured several other students. He had just left the dance hall, carrying his gun — possibly to attack more people, though the stories that I’ve seen are unclear — when he was confronted by the dance hall owner James Strand, who lived next door and kept a shotgun at home. It’s not clear whether Wurst was planning to kill others, would have gotten into a gun battle with the police, or would have otherwise killed more people had Strand not stopped him.
9. In Pearl, Miss., in 1997, 16-year-old Luke Woodham stabbed and bludgeoned to death his mother at home, then killed two students and injured seven at his high school. As he was leaving the school, he was stopped by Assistant Principal Joel Myrick, who had gone out to get a handgun from his car. I have seen sources that state that Woodham was on the way to Pearl Junior High School to continue shooting, though I couldn’t find any contemporaneous news articles that so state.
FBI report shows importance of armed citizens in stopping mass murder sprees
Friday, October 24, 2014 by: J. D. Heyes
(NaturalNews) A new study from the FBI that says active shooter incidents have risen dramatically since 2000 doesn't focus on one aspect of such shootings: that the presence of armed private citizens can be the biggest factor in ending mass shooting sprees, saving countless lives by ending such frightening incidents more quickly.
The FBI says the study -- the first of its kind -- was done merely to "provide our law enforcement partners--normally the first responders on the scene of these dangerous and fast-moving events--with data that will help them to better prepare for and respond to these incidents, saving more lives and keeping themselves safer in the process," according to a bureau press release. But given the anti-gun nature of the Obama Administration -- and given the recommendations made by the FBI in response to its findings -- one can only speculate why the effect of the Second Amendment was downplayed in the study's final report, even though the information was there.
What about good guys with guns?
According to the study:
There were 160 active shooter/mass shooting incidents between 2000 and 2013
That translates to an average of 11.3 incidents per year, though incidents in the final seven years of the study rose to about 16 per year, on average
In all, the shootings produced 1,043 casualties
Of the casualties, 486 people were killed and 557 were wounded
All but six of the 160 shootings were male suspects
In 21 of the 45 incidents where law enforcement had to engage the shooter to end the threat, nine officers were killed and 28 were wounded.
Also, the study found, "The largest percentage of incidents--45.6 percent--took place in a commercial environment (73 incidents), followed by 24.3 percent that took place in an educational environment (39 incidents). The remaining incidents occurred at the other location types specified in the study--open spaces, military and other government properties, residential properties, houses of worship, and health care facilities."
What was not emphasized in the study:
Five of the mass shooting incidents were ended by armed civilians who subdued the shooter
21 of the incidents ended with unarmed citizens subduing the shooter (a dicey proposition at best)
Obviously, if you're confronting someone who is armed, it is much better to be armed (and trained in the use of that firearm) yourself; this would save many more lives than waiting on police.
At least 25 of the shootings ended with the shooter getting away before cops arrived
Only 28 percent of the 160 incidents came to an end after police exchanged fire with the shooter(s); of these, 20 percent ended with the shooter killing himself
The Second Amendment protects law officers, too
The FBI, in its press release, noted:
Because so many of these incidents unfold so rapidly, Special Agent Katherine Schweit--who heads the FBI's Active Shooter Initiative--says she hopes the study "demonstrates the need not only for enhanced preparation on the part of law enforcement and other first responders, but also for civilians to be engaged in discussions and training on decisions they'd have to make in an active shooter situation."
This writer has taken active shooter training as a member of the military; since even military personnel are not permitted to carry weapons on post, the training involved primarily four things: taking cover, moving out of the area where the shooting is taking place, calling for help (when you can) and -- only as a last resort -- trying to take the shooter out.
"Citizens need to be ready and think about what they might have to do," Schweit went on to say. But getting a federal law enforcement agency to admit that a vital right in the Constitution could actually make its officers and those of civilian law enforcement agencies safer, as well as society in general, is virtually impossible.

Re: Paris Attacks latest updates
No, not a nasty piece of work... Just trying to open your eyes to the truth:Rum wrote:You are a truly nasty piece of work.Collector1337 wrote:
Charlie Hebdo was a hoax. A psyops designed to veer the western public towards even more repression, & justify neocolonialism. But it had a further purpose; to see how stupid the general public were, to test the waters, by planting some information about the security services planned operation. Enough to give away the bluff... just like 9/11 & 7/7.
In the Charlie Hebdo rigmarole these were just some of the deliberate clues, for anyone with half a brain to notice:
1) Witnesses in the office said that blue eyed fluent, non-accented French men were the culprits.
2) They all got away, but Algerian French brothers were tracked down & summarily executed to shut them up.
3) The men outside the office (as in the photo) were nonchalant, unhurried, & giving military style hand signals.
4) The policeman lying on the pavement (photo) was allegedly shot by the fully disguised man approaching. But the close-in head shot from a high powered rifle didn't even cause injury to his head; no blood, no skull fragments, no debris from the pavement.
5) The 3 "escapees" just happened to leave an ID in the getaway vehicle.
6) When the supposed driver heard his name on the radio, he went to the nearest police station & showed that he had been in class all that morning.
7) The chief investigative head police officer, right in the middle of writing his report, decided he'd commit suicide.
8) There was no counter-narrative. Only the same BS mass media propaganda campaign as now.
But keep on drinking the Kool-Aid. Never doubt the official mantra, though many lies have been exposed over the decades, that you now take for granted (Tonkin, USS Liberty, Saddam's WMD, etc). Why? Because the paid mass media presstitutes have finally been given permission to reveal a few of them. Unfortunately those lies led to war crimes, the murder of millions, total chaos, and the destruction of their societies & infrastructure....But that was the plan, wasn't it??? < Kool-Aid. Here's something to enlighten you... choose wisely!

And why this present Paris incident is also likely a bit of fun & games from various secret services:
