Just watched Zombieland, I'm not into zombie films, or horror in general, but I thought it was really good, like an American Shaun of the Dead.

I just got What's Eating Gilbert Grape? on DVD, and watched it last night. Hadn't seen it in years. Jesus Christ. Have a box of Kleenex handy if yer gonna watch this film. You'll need it. Also, if you've never taken Leonardo DiCaprio seriously as an actor, you must watch this movie. His performance is astonishing
Johnny Depp is in this movie, if you like him. And Juliette Lewis as well. I really like Juliette. Even though she's a Scientologist, still, I think there's something very special about her.

But those letters are not silent.

"The Untouchables". Quite liked it.
"The fact is that far more crime and child abuse has been committed by zealots in the name of God, Jesus and Mohammed than has ever been committed in the name of Satan. Many people don't like that statement but few can argue with it."

Coincidentally, I also watched this a few days ago for the first time in years. I'd forgotten how good DiCaprio was in that film, even though I don't like him in anything else.tattuchu wrote:I just got What's Eating Gilbert Grape? on DVD, and watched it last night. Saw the film Kick Ass today. I really enjoyed it. Laughed all the way through it. A good mix of comedy and violent, outlandish fight scenes.
Good fun.
Good fun.

Donnie Darko - what a great flick! I can't believe I haven't seen it before now.

I watched District 9 yesterday on DVD. I had no idea about it and no preconceptions, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I laughed and cringed at some of the things in the movie. It was an outstanding parody of the apartheid regime of South Africa and an enjoyable dark comedy.

I just watched In Bruges on a recommendation. Started off slow but got good. Quite tense. Gleeson and Farrell were exactly like Dublin lads. Ralph Fiennes was great as the London gangster. Worth a watch.

I tried to see How to Train Your Dragon (by the same creators who made Lilo & Stitch, BTW), but there was construction on the highway to the theater and the bumper-to-bumper traffic made me a half hour late. So I said fuck it, and I'll see it another day
