Re: Republicans: continued
Just think of the fraud business. Trump would love that.
"Wat is het een gezellig boel hier".
Re: Republicans: continued
I know you are rabid and have to speak out against Trump every few minutes, but refocus...were you just advocating for voter ID laws, and are you worried it would disenfranchise the poor in a disproportionate way?

Meh, just estimate the number of homeless and add that many votes for Democrats during elections. --problem solvedThose folks I know who live in poverty (not 'empty pantry' poverty, but 'sleeping in the bank foyer' poverty) have endless trouble holding on to their ID.
Won't this affect them in a way you find unacceptable?

Hey! That WOULD help your side win...maybe you should bring in a bunch of foreign workers...give them the job of pretending to be homeless, and then your votes will SKYROCKET.Sean Hayden wrote: ↑Fri Jan 18, 2019 7:08 pmMeh, just estimate the number of homeless and add that many votes for Democrats during elections. --problem solvedThose folks I know who live in poverty (not 'empty pantry' poverty, but 'sleeping in the bank foyer' poverty) have endless trouble holding on to their ID.

Of course, it'll be tougher if that wall gets built. You might want to focus on opposing that.
I mean, there really isn't any reason to think walls would be needed there anyway, right?

Don't you mean our side lefty?
Anyway, I don't worry about it. We've absorbed so many that my city is nothing like it was just 20-30 years ago.
My concerns have been that we can do better than a wall, and definitely better with the rhetoric surrounding the issue.
Integration is also important to me.

Integration or it looks like an invasion.Sean Hayden wrote: ↑Fri Jan 18, 2019 7:21 pmDon't you mean our side lefty?

And the language around discussing the issue has been stifled to the point where people cringe from the wrong signals.
A famous example was facebook (or was it twitter) flagging a phrase as 'hatespeech' when it was a legal term, being used exactly as intended.
Funny sidenote, it took several searches and a few minutes to find it because of all the stories about this phrase triggering idiots...
witter rejected a total of four ads from the Center but provided only vague reasoning for the decision.
“We’ve reviewed your tweets and confirmed that it is ineligible to participate in the Twitter Ads program at this time based on our Hateful Content policy. Violating content include, but is not limited to, that which is hate speech or advocacy against a protected group,” according to a notice posted on the CIS website.
“All four tweets use the statutory phrases ‘illegal alien’ or ‘criminal alien’, and all of the tweets referenced law enforcement, either at the border or in the interior,” CIS reports. “One of the tweets contained a powerful Daily Caller video showing illegal aliens in camouflage carrying large backpacks across the border unimpeded.”
One of the tweets rejected by Twitter Ads simply stated facts put out by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Twitter probably knows how bad this looks for them, but at least they show their colours. It is worse when people expect they can trust such a clearly biased organization. Twitter, The BBC or China Daily, the bigger they are, the more suspicion they deserve.
Anyway, that was someone trying to trigger Twitter to make a political point, I think, so not a perfect example (note the 'green ink') However I do think this kind of thing has a chilling effect on anyone else posting their thoughts or sharing their news regarding illegal immigration.
I wish we could provide the following to the world (if you are a maker, please make this):
A new 'twitter', which is a protected right as basic as can be made.
An anonymous poster protection, again protected for anyone.
Kind of the opposite of the current approach of social media providers.
It's impossible, I'm pretty sure, but why not dream big, right?
When I say 'impossible', I mean politically. Cryptocurrency was also 'impossible', but the inventor simply hid their identity, dumped it and ran. Once enough copies are out there, it's like herd immunity.

The ID is free. If you lose it, new ID is free. Drivers license has a fee.

Your ignorance of poverty problems is unsurprising.
You are very fortunate to have that kind of ignorance.
