Nonsense. Trespassers are entitled to only "ordinary care" from the landowner upon whose premises they are trespassing. I faced this all the time because there were cliffs on my property...and other hazards, both natural and man-made...and the law is quite clear that my ONLY obligation to a trespasser (burgler) is not to deliberately create or set a trap to harm them. If they fall in the pool and break their neck while creeping through my yard in the dark enroute to breaking in to my house, they're just fucked, as they should be.Coito ergo sum wrote:You say that like it would be wrong. Problem is he's probably NOT being sarcastic...as applied to the UK. Stupider things happen under UK law all the time. Like making it a crime for a sub-18 year old to buy a set of flatware that includes a butter knife.JimC wrote:You may have missed the fact that CES was talking with tongue planted firmly in cheek...
Idiots.
