I think I remember Jamie and Adam telling the press that they wouldn't air the episode after the incident. I guess the producers changed their mind.

I think they may be running out of good myths too. They still haven't topped blowing up the cement truck.Suppose it depends how you would define "topping". It never aired obviously, but it certainly was entertaining to hear about it in a scary sort of way.
Yeah, that was all over the newspapers here - quite the kerfuffle!hadespussercats wrote:IIRC, they hit a house (I remember seeing a round hole blasted through a wall, I think)
But no one was nearby, thankfully.
I think Zilla's right-- no way you could have a dangerous accident like that and then NOT air the show-- too much bad publicity if it looked like they were trying to brush that one under the rug.Bella Fortuna wrote:Gawdzilla Sama wrote:They couldn't bury that one, they needed to say that they learned from it and made the needed changes.hadespussercats wrote:Yeah, I saw that one, too.Gawdzilla Sama wrote:It did air.SteveB wrote:

Yeah. Plus it's a great example for why they usually do all their safety stuff. A teachable moment, as they say.Bella Fortuna wrote:Exactly. The more upfront they could be in admitting the accident the better, leaving less room for people to fill in knowledge gaps with imaginings.
Like I said, they changed their minds. They also promised they wouldn't air the footage they had filmed of the near-catastrophic cannon shot.

They did air it on November 11, 2012, which I missed.
They should have as much fun as I didn't with similar events.SteveB wrote:Sadist.
