Anyway, I'm not talking about the PBS interview, I'm talking about the The Daily Caller interview with Ginni Thomas (you know, the one YOU cited) in which he clarified his statements, where he said:

00:12 to 00:29 HC: "Maybe I misspoke. What I meant was China does not have the size of nuclear capability that we have. They do have a nuclear capability, I was talking about their total nuclear capability. So that's what I meant by that."

As I said originally, add the words "increased" or "enhanced" or "larger" to Cain's original statement and you get:

"Yes, they [China] are a military threat. They have indicated that they are trying to develop increased nuclear capability, and they want to develop more aircraft carriers like we have, so yes, we have to consider them a military threat."

This is a perfectly accurate statement because that's what China actually is doing, which means that Cain's original statement was simply an error, not an indication of ignorance about China's nuclear capabilities.

So, I reiterate, particularly in light of Cain's clarification on the subject cited BY YOU, people who blow up a simple misstatement into an allegation of idiocy are themselves idiots.
